Installing QuBe CentOS-7 and GUI


Download the .iso and burn the image to DVD disc

During installation selected Install CentOS Linux 7 - Selection will be highlighted by white lettering
Press "enter" on the selection


Then choose your language and press continue

You will be presented with some options

Click on Installation Destination icon
Then click done (in the upper left-hand corner)


Then click on the Network & Host Name icon

On the next screen turn ON the ethernet

Then click on the Configure button to configure the network settings
Click on IPv6 settings and for the "Method" select Ignore

Then click on the IPv4 settings
  • Text Hover
Select the Method drop down
• Automatic DHCP – If you are installing the QuBe PBX at a local network 
• Manual – If you are installing in our data center as you will have a static IP address
If Manual -- Press the Add button in the Addresses section to assign the IP address, Netmask, and Gateway for the server
Enter the DNS Server IP in the DNS Servers field


Then select the General tab and click on Auto Connect to this Network when it is available

Then verify Ethernet is ON and all IP information is correct

Select done when all Network settings are completed


Next click on Begin Installation

Then we need to set the Root Password of the server while the system installs (no need to click the User Creation button at this time)

After setting the root password you will be able to see your progress
Be patient, as this will take some time

After the installation process, you will be prompted for a Reboot
Go ahead and click the Reboot button when ready to reboot

Once the system restarts you will see the system process

Once the system process has completed you will be prompted for your root login (the login we created earlier)

After login you must run the command:   sh {space} /var/lib/guiserver/bin/qube_init.sh
sh /var/lib/guiserver/bin/qube_init.sh

Following the prompt, enter a password for the MariaDB
  • Text Hover
This process will take a few minutes
  • Text Hover
First, enter 5 to add a trusted network
You will enter the local network, network mask, and a description 
Then enter 7 to exit


Enter the pbxadmin user's password
This will be the password login for the GUI

The next menu will look similar but with different options
  • Text Hover
Select choice 1
"Do you want to add all system addresses to allowed hosts? [Y/N]" : Enter Y


The same menu will load again
  • Text Hover
Enter 6 to save and exit
After the system loads the last changes, enter "reboot" (without quotations)


After the system reboots you will be able to navigate over to the GUI Server via your web browser
Simply type in the IP Adress in your address bar that you either assigned during installation or your DHCP Server assigned at boot up

Next, you will need to check for recent updates
(The updates you will perform will not be the same as the ones in the images below)

Select the updates all button
  • Text Hover
Click the submit button to process the update for all modules

Wait for the system to reload - the scroll bar will inform you when the updates are complete

Go back and check for updates one more time to be sure none were missed
Please be sure all updates are complete before continuing!


Now we will go to the firewall

The interface status will show as "untrusted"
Leave this as is - if you change to trusted it will allow access from an IP address

Edit the SIP settings
  • Text Hover
Set the NAT settings based off of the PBX's network
  • Text Hover
Submit the changes


Lastly, add the IP trunk
Add the QuestBlue trunk - all settings are already configured so you will not have to add any settings unless you would like to customize the trunk settings

Scroll to the bottom and hit submit
All changes for this trunk to connect to QuestBlue are automatically completed
